Onguma Tented Camp is a relaxed retreat isolated in the Onguma Game Reserve. A truly wild camp, Onguma boasts beautifully furnished tents, excellent food, modern décor and a brilliant location where guests can truly feel at one with their surroundings.

Location
Six miles from the eastern entrance of Etosha National park, the camp sits deep within the Onguma Game Reserve. Boundaries between camp and the surrounding wilderness feel non-existent here so feeling close to nature is guaranteed. From the comfort of camp, guests can watch impalas, kudu and springboks drink from the 100-foot wide, floodlit waterhole which sits within a natural crater in front of the property.
Rooms
Seven luxury tents surround the waterhole, raised on wooden platforms and offering large verandas. The interiors have a bed draped in mosquito netting, armchairs, animal print rugs and sliding glass doors with canvas flaps that can be closed during the evenings. A welcome breeze flows through the space via transparent mesh windows. En-suites are very spacious with bathtubs and both indoor and outdoor showers.
Communal Areas
The main area is open-fronted, sitting beneath three tents with simple décor and earthy tones. Two lounges are furnished with plenty of spaces to sit with plush sofas covered in colourful cushions, white armchairs, large beanbags and dark wooden coffee tables. A fireplace built into the limestone warms up the space on cold nights and a tea and coffee station keeps refreshments flowing. The dining area is open-sided with views over the floodlit waterhole. Lounge on beanbags around the swimming pool after a day of activity.
Activities
Guests can take morning guided game drives into Etosha National Park, although guests may also choose to self-drive the park’s wilderness. Both day and night drives can be taken on the private reserve and sunset drives with sundowners in the bush are a highlight. Take interpretive bush walks around the reserve to learn of the flora and fauna or simply relax at camp with perfect wildlife views of the waterhole.
