Location
Constance Ephélia Resort is found at Port Launay in the far west of Mahé, a 40-minute drive from the airport. The resort stretches across an area of nearly 300 acres, and is flanked to the north and south by beautiful white sand beaches, where the waters are calm and shallow and perfect for swimming. Environmentally-conscious travellers should however be aware that part of the site’s construction involved considerable deforestation of the surrounding mangroves.
Rooms
Constance Ephélia offers 313 rooms and villas, from those with tropical-garden views to those situated on the hillside or by the beach. The largest of these can accommodate up to seven people. These rooms are amongst the most generously-sized in the Seychelles, with terraces capitalising on the fantastic coastline views.
Interiors have an elegant, contemporary style, with relaxed neutral colour-schemes and a safari-influenced style that pairs animal prints with natural textiles. You’ll find all the amenities you could need here, from coffee-machines to LCD TVs. The modern bathrooms are fitted with smart glass, which can be made transparent or opaque at the touch of a button.
Communal Areas
Given the scale of the site, Constance Ephélia Resort offers more facilities than the average resort. There are five restaurants and bars, a spa, five shops stocking local arts, crafts and clothes, a kids’ club, a communal lounge area, and a range of sports facilities including a PADI dive centre. Moreover, with so many pools dotted around the site, you’ll never have to go far to have a refreshing swim. Securing dining reservations one day in advance is a must, however, as despite having a good range of onsite eateries the hotel cannot guarantee an unreserved table.
Activities
Guests at Constance Ephélia can avail of the resort’s four tennis courts, squash court, and the PADI centre’s non-motorised water-sports equipment. The PADI dive centre also offers fishing and diving trips with qualified instructors. The spa offers various treatments as well as the use of its hot and cold pools, while the Constance Kids’ Club (ages four to eleven) will keep the kids amused during the day. Yoga classes are provided at a supplementary rate.
