A 20-minute flight from Pemba (accessible via a flight from Johannesburg, Nairobi, or Dar-es-Salaam) will take you to the Ibo Island airstrip, where you will be guided to the 12 metre traditional dhow and Mozambican crew.
Food
Lunch and dinner consist of light meals served al fresco on the beach or under the main safari tent. Evening meals are often seafood-based, using freshly caught fish, and are cooked on an open fire.
Rooms
Accommodation on the Ibo Dhow Safari takes the form of mobile fly-camping, so after sailing across clear turquoise ocean, guests will disembark the dhow onto one of the Quirimbas’ many beautiful, uninhabited islands. There, you will camp in signature dome tents. Comfortable and basic, these tents are fitted with crisp linen beds and outdoor bucket showers.

Built into the dhow safari experience is island hopping, and with its great location in the Quirimbas Archipelago, there are plenty of landmarks of cultural, historical and natural interest to explore.
Guests can swim and snorkel in the pristine clear waters in deserted coves, go scuba diving accompanied by trained guides, or fish in the tuna-dense oceans. Keen birdwatchers can head to sites known as the habitats of rare wading and coastal birds. Cultural visits to local fishing villages can also be arranged.
