Wilderness Safari’s Wild Camping experience gives guests the opportunity to discover and camp within some of Northwest Namibia’s most remote and unexplored areas. Location
Following the twists and turns of Namibia’s riverbeds, the camp occupies various isolated and untouched areas and the chosen site will depend on conditions, game movements and water availability. Explore the Springbok River and Peters Pool Spring in the Torra area where desert elephants and black rhino occupy the Huab River. Stay in one of Namibia’s largest concessions in Palmwag, occupying 5500km2 where lions, black rhino and elephant roam. Discover the vast scenery of Kaokoland where guests can camp by the Khumib River and meet the Kunene Sand Dune Sea. This remote landscape is shared only with the nomadic Himba people, whose guests will have a chance to meet along their journey.
Rooms
As is the nature of wild camping, accommodation is carried along the wayand consists of 3mx3m domed tents, a bedroll mattress with fitted cotton sheets and pillows and a sleeping bag inside a warm duvet cover. Extra blankets are provided for cooler nights, as well as towels and there are bedside tables with LED lanterns. Washbasins, a long-drop toilet and a screened-in bucket shower sit just outside with water heated from an open fire.
Communal Areas
The communal space is the pristine open landscape where meals are prepared by a guide and drinks are enjoyed around the campfire.
