Location
The Zambezi Queen sits on the Chobe River, 15 minutes from Namibia’s immigration post and 80km from Victoria Falls. The boat covers around 25km of the Chobe River and its proximity to Chobe National Park puts guests in the perfect spot to see Africa’s densest population of elephants as well as a large number of lion, leopard, buffalo and birdlife.
Rooms
There are ten suites and four master suites onboard. Interiors are stylish with each being designed by South African designer, Jenni Button. There are king-size or twin beds, specially designed shutter systems for a consistent cool atmosphere and sliding doors which lead to a private deck and river views. Master Suites offer more space and a larger deck complete with sun loungers.
Communal Areas
The communal space onboard can be found on the boat’s upper deck where there is a dining area, plenty of seating and a chic bar. The food here is exceptional and can be enjoyed with panoramic views of the river. The very top deck of the boat offers a wonderful sundeck with loungers and a plunge pool, a perfect spot to watch for the Chobe’s wildlife. When not soaking up the sun, guests can wind down with Wi-Fi in the reading room or browse the curio shop for souvenirs.
Activities
Game viewing from onboard the Zambezi Queen is an all-day activity but to get closer to the wildlife, guests can hop on a special game-viewing boat to see the plains game, big cats and birdlife along the riverbank. Fishing trips can be arranged and birding safaris are available with expert guides. Guests can also visit the Namibian village of Ijambwe to meet villagers, browse the market and indulge in some traditional singing and dancing.

There are also two significant exceptions to the above rule of thumb; Kalahari Desert and the Makgadikgadi which come into their own during the wet season as wildlife moves in to take advantage of the fresh, lush grass.
Temperatures can be very high in and around the wet season; when the sunlight is at its strongest, however nights can be cool to sub-freezing throughout the year. So, don’t forget to pack warm clothing!
DRY SEASON
Clear skies still dominate, the landscape has now become quite parched; ultimately making this the perfect time for game viewing. Midday and night temperatures are climbing, with midday temperatures becoming hot, averaging 29°C/84°F in August and 33°C/91°F in September.
