Four Seasons Resort Seychelles occupies a 170-acre site around the spectacular bay of Petite Anse, found on the south-west coast of Mahé. The resort incorporates a secluded (though not exclusive) white-sand beach and the overhanging hillside with its thick forest and tropical scented flowers. The steep climb to the hillside villas calls for chauffeured buggie-rides, which may deter some guests. Otherwise, this is a prime location guaranteeing outstanding views and stunning sunsets, as well as year-round swimming in the surrounding waters.
Rooms
Positioned in various locations around the site are a total of 67 Seychellois villas, 62 of which are single-bedroomed. The remaining five are two- or three-bedroom suites. The garden-view villas provide easy access to the hotel’s communal facilities, while the pricier ocean-view villas are perched like treehouses atop the forested hillside, offering expansive views across the bay. These hillside suites are ideal honeymoon retreats, with treetop terraces, outdoor showers, and luxurious wraparound infinity pools.
The interiors are richly decorated in European-Colonial style and fitted with sumptuous canopy beds, a lounge area, and a generously-sized bathroom complete with sunken bathtub and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Communal Areas
Four Seasons’ top-of-the-range facilities include two restaurants and bars, a communal infinity pool and separate children’s pool, a hilltop spa and gym, as well as a well-equipped water-sports centre. Not forgetting the large communal garden, which is home to a family of giant tortoises!
Onsite there are a number of eateries to choose from, from the open-air Zez restaurant where fine-dining meets Pan-Asian cuisine, to the sleek, contemporary Koi, where Japanese cuisine is expertly prepared before your eyes. The poolside Kannel bar offers light snacks, cocktails and a relaxed menu, with international dishes ranging from Creole cuisine to pizza. A pop-up barbecue or steak shack can be found on the beach a few times per week.
Activities
Guests can choose from a good range of activities at Four Seasons, from spa treatments to various water-sports, including diving, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing. There is also a concierge service offering a variety of island excursions. The resort is suitable for families, too, with a complimentary kids’ club catering for ages four to 12, and child-friendly activities such as guided snorkelling, kayaking and marine-education sessions.
