Kwandwe Ecca Lodge

Location

With a backdrop of steep cliffs, the lodge sits on rolling spekboom hills overlooking a valley of acacia trees. It sits within the 22,000 hectare Kwandwe Private Game Reserve which stretches along the Great Fish River and includes a number of vegetation zones and rich biodiversity. Here, the valley landscape compromises hills and open plains which are a haven for all Big Five game.

Rooms

With just six suites have large lounge areas with sofas or daybeds. Interiors are stylish with a host of trendy furnishings, dark wood-panelled walls and natural colours and textures. Sliding glass doors open out to wraparound decks adorned with cacti and potted succulents, a private plunge pool and an outdoor shower with views into the valley wilderness. The en-suite are also very spacious with showers and freestanding bathtubs.

Communal Areas

The main areas are decorated in a retro style with giant colourful prints adorning the walls and a bold palette throughout. In the lounge, sofas and chairs sit top polished concrete floors with large sliding doors leading to a deck overlooking the valley. Guests can dine at modern wooden tables in the dining room and kitchen or out on the patio. Relax in the library and TV room where a host of wildlife dvd’s are on offer as well curio and crafts to purchase. Outside, a rim-flow swimming pool is surrounded by a deck and loungers.

Activities

Take morning an evening game drives through the private reserve or embark on walking safaris to track big game. Guests can enjoy sundowners in the bush and afternoon picnics out in the wild of the reserve. Soar over the landscape in scenic coastal flights, participate in monitoring and tracking both black and white rhino or head out on photographic safaris.
