Awarded: Gold
Location
Félicité Island is easily accessed via a 20-minute flight from the main island of Mahé, or by boat trip from Praslin Island or La Digue. This granitic island resides within the stunning Seychellois archipelago, where the pure white beaches, lush tropical vegetation and crystal-clear, turquoise waters make it the definition of paradise. Although the sole occupier of the 652-acre island, Zil Pasyon covers only a third of this acreage. The rest remains wild and untouched.
Rooms
Zil Pasyon’s 30 luxurious villas range from one- to four-bedroom capacities, and are subcategorised into the options of ocean-fronted villas, the elevated hillside villas with panoramic views, private-garden villas, and those which are tucked away in the privacy of the woods. Aside from the bedrooms and lounge area, all villas come with an en-suite bathroom, dressing room, a private outdoor decking area, and infinity pool.
The overall design is sleek and contemporary, with wood cladding that blends seamlessly into the surrounding foliage and floor-to-ceiling windows that integrate the natural setting indoors. Each villa is assigned a Guest Experience Maker tooled to create your itinerary and ensure your preferences are met.
Facilities
Housed mostly in the main communal space, the Grand Kaz, there are multiple restaurant options for guests to choose from, including the Island Café’s all-day international dining and the seafood-specialised Ocean’s Kitchen. The Chef’s Kitchen is particularly great for food-lovers, as it is an “interactive kitchen” in which chefs create tailor-made meals for a small group of guests. Much of the produce is sourced locally, and the eclectic menu reflects the diversity of Seychellois cuisine, drawing from African, French and Indian influences among others. Among the resort’s bars is Lakanbiz, offering tapas, and Koko, where you can enjoy cocktails while overlooking a spectacular oceanic vista.
The ocean-fronted Six Senses Spa has five double-treatment villas offering massages, facials and other treatments. As well as offering yoga and meditation sessions, there is also a gym and a sauna.
Activities
Zil Pasyon’s range of activities is notable, from its water-sports facilities (which provide equipment for scuba diving, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking), to fishing trips and
excursions to neighbouring islands (including Praslin, La Digue, Curieuse, Marianne and Aride). Nature trails are an excellent way of exploring the island’s natural reserves, while guests can take in a bird’s eye view of the varied landscape by taking a helicopter tour.
Other activities include family cookery classes, cycling, hiking, spa treatments, yoga, specially-organised picnics, and movie-nights at the resort’s own cinema. The resort even has its own kids’ club, Trouloulou, which keeps little ones occupied with arts-and-crafts, sandcastle-building, baking, and treasure hunts.

As the Seychelles islands are blessed with a year-long warm, tropical climate, it’s always a good time to visit, although different times of year may be better suited to your particular interests.
Two opposing trade winds generally govern the weather pattern: the north-westerly trades blow from October to March; and the brisker south-easterly trades blow from May to September, bringing the cooler and windier conditions ideal for sailing.
The periods of calm between the trades produce fairly warm and wind-free conditions throughout April and also in October. Conditions for swimming, snorkelling and especially diving are superb during April/May and October/November when the water temperature sometimes reaches 29ºC and visibility is often 30 metres plus.
