About Asilia Africa
One of East Africa’s most prominent upmarket safari operators, Asilia Africa provides visitors to Tanzania and Kenya with an authentic high-quality bush experience. In addition to operating more than 20 of its own top-notch camps, boutique lodges and private villas in premium wildlife viewing areas and beach locations, it works closely with a cherry-picked selection of properties elsewhere in the region.
Asilia’s main area of speciality is Tanzania. Here it operates permanent luxury camps in the southern, central and northern Serengeti, as well as two more low-key mobile camps that follow the world-famous wildebeest migration through this vast ecosystem. It also has camps and lodges in Tarangire, Ruaha and Rubondo Island National Parks, in the Selous Game Reserve, and on the forested rim of the remote Olmoti Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. For post-safari relaxation, it also operates an isolated lodge and village at Matemwe, on the gorgeous northeast coast of the ‘Spice Island’ of Zanzibar.
Asilia Africa runs several superb small lodges and camps in Kenya. These are located in the Mara North Conservancy bordering the Masai Mara, the Kalama Community Conservancy bordering Samburu-Buffalo Springs National Reserve, and Ol Pejeta on the Laikipia Plateau.
Asilia’s own camps and lodges, as well as those of its partners, are of the highest quality. They offer an immersive experience, inclusive of game drives and other activities with in-house guides who know the surrounding region intimately. Asilia also functions as a ground operator providing air and/or road connections between destinations. A more exclusive option is a guided expedition led by a member of a small team of Asilia Safari ‘Fundis’ – expert guides whose vast experience will add to the magic of the African bush.
Asilia Giving, a philanthropic offshoot of Asilia Africa, collaborates with and funds a diverse portfolio of NGOs dedicated directly to conservation or to the social upliftment of local communities. These include the Serengeti Cheetah Project, Ruaha Carnivore Project, Chimpanzee Habituation Project on Rubondo Island, Mara Elephant Project, and Maa Trust Beadwork and Honey Projects. It also operates a scholarship program for young Tanzanians wanting to study Hotel and Tourism Management at a top vocational college in Arusha.
