Location

Royal Chundu sits just upstream from Victoria Falls on a private nine-mile stretch of the Zambezi River. The lodge is located where Zambia and Zimbabwe converge, between Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park. Island Lodge is located on the private island of Katambura, reached by a short boat journey from the main River Lodge. Surrounded by jackalberry trees, the river is alive with wildlife including abundant crocodile and hippo, and elephant and buffalo roaming the banks.

Rooms

River Lodge has ten river-facing suites with grand and spacious interiors. With The Zambezi River on one side and the Matetsi Private Game Reserve on the other, suites provide stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape from private decks. Tastefully decorated with classically Zambian patterns, interiors remain peaceful

Island Lodge has four large villas, sleeping four to six people and surrounded by baobab and Jackalberry trees. They offer the utmost privacy with decks extending out to the river rapids. Interiors are adorned with splashes of deep blue, earthy tones and dark wooden furnishing, and the en suites provide riverfront bathtubs.

Communal Areas

River Lodge has three lounges, a library and an infinity pool for cooling afternoons. Three dining areas offer fresh, gourmet cuisine, prepared with produce from the lodge’s own vegetable garden. Enjoy a meal in the main restaurant, the barbeque boma or on the deck overlooking the Zambezi. For a unique dining experience, take a picnic on the riverbank where Persian rugs and tree-hung hammocks await.

Island Lodge offers separate facilities with its beautiful, contemporary lounge area, dining space and infinity pool.

Victoria Falls is just 30km downstream from Royal Chundu so this makes a good base for all the falls has to offer.
