Taking its name from the lush Sabora plains it overlooks, Sabora Tented Camp shares the Grumeti private conservancy with its sister properties, Sasakwa and Faru Faru. The Grumeti Reserves is a huge area spanning 350,000 acres across Northern Tanzania, and it offers exceptional game-viewing thanks to its rich vegetation and ongoing conservation programme. The resident wildlife roam freely between the conservation area and the adjoining Serengeti National Park, where successful efforts have been made to re-stabilise the wildlife population.
Rooms
Sabora has a distinctive style, with dark-wood Georgian furniture and rich Persian rugs adorning its floors, and atmospheric lanterns and chandeliers descending from its ceilings. Each of the nine en-suite tents is brimming with antique silverware, leather chests, and traditional beadwork. These one-bedroom, luxury suites all come with full bath amenities and an outdoor shower, as well as a viewing deck that overlooks the Sabora plains.
Communal Areas
The nostalgic, old-world atmosphere extends to the common areas, which are filled with yet more antiques. The tented dining and lounge areas are raised on a wooden platform, while a large veranda stretching around the front of the lodge makes the most of the incredible views across the Sabora savannah plains. Guests are welcome to enjoy night-time meals here beneath the stars, where food is served to impeccable standards. A small swimming pool is located adjacent to the main lodge.

Activities
The Serengeti ecosystem is hard to beat, and guests to Sabora are can expect high standards of safari expeditions. Guided bush walks and private game drives in open-sided Land Rovers are popular activities. The Singita Mini Rangers’ Course teaches children the basics of animal-tracking and bush survival techniques, perfect for preparing the next generation of David Attenboroughs. Other activities on offer include archery and use of the lodge’s clay tennis court. Gym and spa facilities are also available onsite.
