Communal facilities at The Bishop’s House include a tastefully decorated double-height lounge fitted with comfortable seating and local artworks, a bar, a library, a terrace with views across Mount Bisoke, and an opulent dining area where guests are offered a six-course dinner menu with a selection of fine wines. There are plans to develop a spa and swimming pool in the near future.
Outside there is a walled garden planted with lush, tropical flora and fauna and fitted with sun loungers, making a restful setting for a post-safari snooze.

The hotel has nine rooms which include six standard rooms, two junior suites, and a presidential suite. All have en suite bathrooms, while the suites have a small lounge. Activities
Aside from cultural and shopping trips to the nearby town, guests at Bishop’s House have a variety of adventurous treks they can choose to embark on. These are largely centred around Volcanoes National Park, known for its gorilla and golden monkey-trekking. Guests can hike up Mount Bisoke and take in the awesome views from its volcanic crater lake, while more experienced climbers can tackle the even more majestic Mount Karisimbi, one of the largest mountains in all of Africa. The Musanze Caves are another interesting natural wonder to explore, while water-sports lovers can spend the afternoon canoeing along the rapids of Mukungwa River.
