Nothing flash or brash; a few subtle African touches and hand-picked artworks and ceramics that feel more like an elegant private home than hotel. With just 10 rooms in three separate clusters and terraced grounds, it’s very peaceful, with lovely views. Grounds are well groomed; interior maintenance immaculate.

The pool, set in a terrace overlooking the pretty courtyard garden, is a boon in summer, and the expansive sense of space is a luxury given the central location
