Walkers Bush Villa lies within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve on Kruger National Park’s western boundary. Sharing unfenced boundaries with the park, Timbavati is a renowned nature reserve belonging to Howard and Ingrid Walker and sits nestled between the Klaserie and Manyeleti. It’s home to the Big Five, white lions and a wealth of birdlife. The villa is also just 30 minutes from Hoedspruit, the gateway to the National Park.
Rooms
There are four bedrooms at the Walkers Bush Villa, one master and three standard. The master bedroom is decorated in creams and pastels with a double bed draped in mosquito netting facing the gardens. It offers both an spacious indoor shower and bath, and a luxurious outdoor bath area. The standard bedrooms each surround the central courtyard with sliding doors to the garden. Although light and airy, dark wooden furniture and warm red rugs adorn the interiors.
Communal Areas
The communal space of the villa is furnished with classic art pieces, Dylan Lewis sculptures and African handcrafted items, all housed under tall ceilings with chandeliers overhead. The space opens out to the large patio complete with sofas, chairs and coffee tables, the pool area and shaded lawns, a perfect spot to laze in the sun and look out across the endless views. Dine in the indoor dining room or out on the patio before retreating to the boma and campfire for drinks.
Activities
Guests at Walkers Bush Villa have the luxury of tailoring their daily schedule to suit them. Morning and afternoon game drives through the reserve last around three hours with either a coffee break or a sundowner amid the wilderness. When not making the most of the expertly guided drives, guests can take bush walks on request, enjoy high tea on the patio or explore the grounds.
